On Demand Instruction is a virtual mom-and-pop shop owned by Jason & Patricia Martin in Northern Colorado.  We seek to provide writers with the support, encouragement, and guidance to meet their writing goals.  

Jason spends most of his time wrangling small children and volunteering at the elementary school.  He is an obsessive reader, a Land Rover enthusiast, and an avid fisherman. 

Patricia wakes up every morning to a good book and a big cup of coffee and falls asleep reading to the kids (usually Harry Potter).  In between chapters, she spends her time teaching writers and planning her garden. .

Why Aren't We On Social Media?

We have lived through the wild experiment of social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.), and having experienced the negative impact that using social media has on our society.  We have witnessed the breakdown of interpersonal relationships, seen friends believe outrageous stories, and watched our communities become more polarized. 

So, we stopped participating in social media.  On Demand Instruction has a Pinterest account, since that platform operates as a visual search engine and not in a manner that negatively impacts individuals or communities, especially by spreading misinformation.  We aren't perfect, but we are trying to be good. 

We hope that if you choose to use social media that you are well.  And if you don't feel like social media is supporting your well-being, we invite you to close your accounts and pick up a pen. 

Writing heals.  Reading heals.  Books heal.  Take care of yourselves, and be well.
